McLaren P1 GTR: Racing Supercar Priced at Over $3.6 Million
The McLaren P1 GTR is a special edition limited to only 58 units worldwide, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and bearing the name of the legendary F1 GTR.
A dedicated racing supercar
The McLaren P1 GTR was first introduced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and initially available for order only by owners of the 375 standard McLaren P1s. The starting price for this supercar at the time of its launch was over $2 million, including the opportunity to participate in track experience events.
However, McLaren adjusted the pricing for customers who did not intend to use the car on the racetrack. In total, only 58 McLaren P1 GTRs were produced, making it rare and unique.
Special exterior design
The McLaren P1 GTR features a new aerodynamic exterior design to optimize performance, road grip, and downforce compared to the standard version. The exterior paint color of the car is the traditional McLaren Volcano Yellow, combined with the number 007, creating a striking and distinctive appearance.
The rearview mirror of the car is also redesigned to enhance aerodynamics. A large aerodynamic wing is fixed on the car and equipped with a DRS (Drag Reduction System) feature similar to F1 models, increasing the downforce on the road by over 10% compared to the original P1 version.
Additionally, the McLaren P1 GTR is equipped with specialized racing suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a high-performance exhaust system made from titanium and inconel materials.
Outstanding performance
The McLaren P1 GTR still uses the same hybrid V8 twin-turbo 3.8-liter engine as the standard version but has an additional 84 horsepower, reaching a total maximum output of 1,000 horsepower. Optimization through lightweight materials and the elimination of luxury features helped reduce the weight of the car by 50 kg, resulting in a total weight of 1,440 kg.
With this remarkable performance, the McLaren P1 GTR can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 2.8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 349 km/h (electronically limited). The deceleration from 100 km/h to 0 is also notable, taking approximately 26 meters, with acceleration and cornering forces reaching up to 2.5 G and 1.54 G, respectively.
Unique racing supercar
The McLaren P1 GTR is one of the distinctive and rare racing supercars on the market. All 58 McLaren P1 GTRs are produced and maintained by the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) department, ensuring quality and reliability for their owners.
A notable aspect is that the McLaren P1 GTR can also be adjusted for street use, although it is primarily designed for racing activities. This adds flexibility and an exceptional driving experience for the owners of the car.
Currently, a luxury car dealership in the UK is listing this 2015 McLaren P1 GTR for sale at a price of £2.82 million (approximately $3.6 million). With only 230 km on the odometer, this unique supercar is an attractive offering in the luxury car market.
Overall, the McLaren P1 GTR is a perfect combination of power, performance, and distinctive design, making it one of the top racing supercars in the world. With a price tag of over $3.6 million, it is one of the ultra-luxury and rare models that speed enthusiasts cannot overlook.
