The World’s Most Unique BMW Concept Touring Coupe in Detail

BMW Concept Touring Coupe is developed based on the new-generation BMW Z4 with a unique shooting-brake design.

At the 2023 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este event, BMW officially unveiled the world’s most unique Concept Touring Coupe. This project is developed from the Z4 sports car lineup.

According to the German automaker, this world’s unique concept is inspired by the BMW 328 Touring Coupe, which won the Mille Miglia race in 1940

The BMW Concept Touring Coupe features a Sparkling Lario brown-gray paint with a glass mosaic effect in blue, creating depth for the car’s exterior.

The characteristic kidney grille of the BMW Z4 has been replaced with a new version, featuring 7 vertical dual fins on each side and an elegant copper trim.

With this sports car model, BMW designers have introduced lightweight forged alloy wheels, measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear.

The shooting-brake style of the car is inspired by the BMW 02 Series “Touring” models in the early 70s, combined with the familiar Hofmeister kink design for the third window.

The roofline extends evenly to the trunk. Particularly, the aerodynamic wind deflector at the rear windshield edge is crafted into two separate sections.

The interior space is divided into two distinct color tones: while the upper part of the cabin is upholstered in dark brown leather to enhance focus for the driver, the lower part is wrapped in Saddle Brown leather, providing warmth.

Moreover, all the details are handcrafted by the interior decoration brand Poltrona Frau from Turin, Italy.

Thanks to the shooting-brake design, the rear compartment of the car becomes more spacious than ever. The entire surface is covered in premium leather and equipped with interior ambient lighting.

Accompanying the car is a set of luxury leather accessories from the Schedoni brand in Italy, including 2 large handbags, 1 small handbag, and a long bag to protect the owner’s suit.

The BMW Concept Touring Coupe is equipped with a 3.0L inline 6-cylinder engine, but the performance and driving capabilities of the car have not been disclosed.

Currently, the turbocharged I6 3.0L engine is fitted in the Z4 M40i version, with a maximum output of 388 horsepower in the US market and 340 horsepower in other markets.

The BMW Concept Touring Coupe made a remarkable debut on the shores of Lake Como in Cernobbio, Italy, alongside other impressive vintage cars. BMW has not yet announced any commercial production plans for this special car.
