Actual photo of Cadillac’s mysterious coupe concept
The Cadillac Expressive Coupe has been officially unveiled to the public even though the car has been designed since 2018.
Cadillac‘s parent group – GM, has just shared the first image of a unique 2-door coupe concept. Even GM only calls this design an “expressive” concept without an official name.
Immediately, speed enthusiasts discovered that the design of this Cadillac “Expressive” Coupe was leaked in June 2018. However, since that time, no information about this car has been disclosed.
The coupe also shares the design language of the Cadillac Escala Concept, which was unveiled at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
This impressive concept suddenly appeared at the EyesOn Design exhibition just held in Michigan (USA). The actual image of the car was also shared by GM’s CEO of Modern Design, Mr. Andrew Smith.
According to the brand’s representative, this concept model is the inspiration for Cadillac to launch the CT5 luxury mid-size sedan and the high-performance CT5-V Blackwing version.
The Expressive Coupe has a sporty coupe style. This is also a gap for Cadillac when it has killed ATS-V Coupe, ELR Coupe or CTS-V Coupe.
The front of the car is futuristic with a slim LED headlight cluster, connected to the brand’s signature shield-shaped honeycomb grille.
In coupe style, the coupe’s B-pillar has been removed, next to the hidden door handles. The car is equipped with a rearview mirror with a digital camera.
The tail is designed seamlessly but no less powerful. The vertical LED taillight design has also appeared on the Cadillac CT5 model, but it is thinner and more elegant.
The rear air diffuser is more compact, with a dual exhaust system located in the center of the rear bumper. This shows that this concept is not a pure electric car.
The interior is also a strong point of the Cadillac Expressive Coupe with a modern 3-spoke steering wheel, an extended and extended digital taplo instrument panel.
The car does not have a center screen, instead the surface of the large taplo panel is upholstered in high-quality leather, intertwined with metal trim details and the Cadillac logo.
This concept owns a 4-seat configuration with sports seats. In addition, the car is also equipped with a Panorama sunroof that extends down to the rear seats.
GM did not announce the performance of the Cadillac Expressive Coupe. Meanwhile, the Cadillac CT5 is equipped with a 2.0L turbo I4 engine or a 3.0L twin-turbo V6. The high-performance version of the CT5-V Blackwing uses a powerful 6.2L supercharged V8 engine with 677 horsepower.
After the announcement, many customers and speed enthusiasts were excited about the design of the Expressive Coupe, and also expressed disappointment that Cadillac did not actually build a commercial version based on this concept.
