McLaren Senna GTR: A Race Car for the Streets

The McLaren Senna GTR, a car designed specifically for the racetrack, has made its appearance on the streets of the Principality of Andorra, creating a unique and captivating scene.

A special edition for the racetrack.

The McLaren Senna GTR is an upgraded version of the McLaren Senna designed exclusively for the racetrack. Its introduction was celebrated at the 2019 Goodwood Members’ Meeting, with a limited production run of only 75 units.

Compared to the standard version, the McLaren Senna GTR features a completely new aerodynamic exterior package, inspired by McLaren’s famous racing models, the P1 GTR and F1 GTR.

Meeting safety and noise standards.

To ensure this car can be legally used on the streets, Lanzante, a British tuning company, has made several improvements to the operational details, aiming to meet safety standards and reduce noise.

Specifically, Lanzante has changed the exterior and interior materials, improved the external mechanical structures, upgraded the locking system, electrical system, braking system, suspension system, and various other components.

Upgraded wheels and braking system.

The McLaren Senna GTR is equipped with OZ Racing wheels, with a size of 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear. The braking system has also been upgraded with additional handbrakes and control software.

The tuning company has also redesigned some rear bumper details to accommodate license plates, reflectors, fog lights, and reverse lights, as well as rear wheel arch extensions and the function of raising and lowering the chassis.

Power and performance.

The McLaren Senna GTR still utilizes the twin-turbo V8 engine with the code M840TR, but the power has been increased to 825 horsepower, compared to the 800 horsepower in the standard version.

The engine’s power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a seamless-shift dual-clutch 7-speed gearbox. The car supports Launch Control and has Wet, Track, and Race driving modes.

Price and high performance.

At its debut, the McLaren Senna GTR had a starting price of around £1.1 million, equivalent to approximately $1.6 million USD at the current exchange rate. This price reflects the high performance and prestige of this supercar model.
