Audi Q8 e-tron 2024 has been launched with a price tag below 75,000 USD

The Audi Q8 e-tron 2024 has been launched with a price tag under 75,000 USD, featuring various technology upgrades.

Audi unveiled the updated Audi Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback in November last year, announcing the electric crossover for the US market.

The flagship electric vehicle from Audi is priced at $74,400, while the Q8 Sportback S line e-tron quattro coupe-style starts at $77,800 in the US. The Q8 e-tron twins will be getting additional e-tron SQ8 performance variants soon.

Sitting above the Q4 e-tron, Volkswagen’s ID.4 MEB platform, the Q8 e-tron is built on the MLB Evo platform. Meanwhile, the MLB Evo platform is shared with the Audi Q8 internal combustion engine, which is priced at $72,800 for the 2023 model.

Both the regular and coupe-style crossovers are equipped with a large 114 kWh battery pack, with a usable capacity of 106 kWh. The maximum DC charging power is 170 kW, compared to 150 kW for previous models, meaning it takes 31 minutes to recharge from 10 to 80%.

Audi has improved the rear electric motor with 14 coils instead of 12, increasing efficiency with a stronger magnetic field. The power output is 355 horsepower and 561 Nm of torque, which can temporarily increase to 402 horsepower and 664 Nm of torque. The Sportback can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.

Adaptive air suspension is standard on the Audi Q8 e-tron, and the system can vary the ride height by nearly 3 inches depending on the driving situation. A four-zone automatic climate control system with a heat pump is also standard, with eight-way power-adjustable leather-trimmed seats, panoramic glass sunroof, and high-definition digital instrument cluster.

All of these upgrades bring the Sportback version of the Audi Q8 e-tron to a range of 406 km, a 30% increase from last year. The regular version maintains the same specifications. To improve the driving range, the maximum DC fast charging power has been increased from 150 kW to 170 kW, allowing for a recharge from 10 to 80% in about 31 minutes. When using Level 2 home charging, the battery can be fully charged in about 6.5 hours with a 19.2 kW charger or 13 hours with a 9.6 kW charger. This charging rate is equivalent to the Mercedes EQE SUV but still lower than the 195 kW fast charging capability available on the BMW iX SUV.
